# Settings

The property model every other part of Revhero reads from — rooms, boards, rate plans, inventory and the base the rest of your pricing hangs on.

Settings is the foundation of every property in revhero. It mirrors how the property is distributed in webhotelier — room types, occupancy combinations, rate plans, boards — and adds the few revhero-only fields the rest of the platform depends on: the pricing model for each room, display order, inventory and the base room and base board.

This page is built for you. Room types, inventory, the base room, the base board and the rate plan mappings are all configured by Revhero administrators when the property is set up, as part of the managed mappings service included in your subscription. It is then held steady, so the figures every report divides by stay accurate. Changes are made on request — see [Manual sync](/revhero-docs/your-hotels-setup/settings/manual-sync.md).

Settings is on screen so you can always see exactly how your property is modelled. Find it under **Administration → Settings**. It is property-specific: switch property and the whole screen reloads with that hotel's values.

## What is on the page

### Operational period and market

The **Operational Period** — a range such as *01/04 – 31/10*, or all year round — comes from webhotelier. All your pricing periods sit inside it. The **Market** is set when the property is onboarded and drives the demand data on the Dashboard and in Daily Performance.

### Room types

Every active room, with the fields that describe it. Room code, name, unit type, occupancy range and maximum adults come from webhotelier. Order, pricing model, base occupancy and inventory are set at set-up. The sum of the inventory values is your **Total Inventory** — the denominator behind occupancy and RevPAR everywhere in revhero. See [Room types & inventory](/revhero-docs/your-hotels-setup/settings/room-types-and-inventory.md).

### Base room and base board

Where rooms are priced Per Occupancy, one room and one board anchor the structure. Every rate is built from that room, on that board, for 2 adults. The base is chosen with you so the structure is smooth and well balanced. See [Base room & base board](/revhero-docs/your-hotels-setup/settings/base-room-and-board.md).

### Rate plans

Revhero manages one parent rate plan per room type, on each unique board that room sells. Boards you would rather manage yourself are kept out of scope. See [Rate plans & boards](/revhero-docs/your-hotels-setup/settings/rate-plans-and-boards.md).

### Connection and mapping

Shows how the property is connected: to webhotelier, which carries reservations in and rates out; to RoomPulse, which defines the competitor set behind the Dashboard; and to a property management system where one is connected. A broken connection shows up here first.

## Complete and incomplete

| Settings status | Pricing | Yielding Board | Occupancy and RevPAR | Budget calculations |
| --------------- | -------- | -------------- | -------------------- | ------------------- |
| Incomplete      | Locked   | Locked         | Hidden               | Hidden              |
| Complete        | Unlocked | Unlocked       | Visible              | Visible             |

A property is taken to Complete as part of set-up, before you start pricing. If you find it reading Incomplete, email **<support@revhero.com>** — usually a new room has arrived from webhotelier and is waiting for its inventory figure.

## When something changes at the property

New rooms, a retired category, a new board, new occupancy combinations, new rate plans, a permanent inventory change or a different base room are all handled for you. Email **<support@revhero.com>** with what has changed. We ingest it from webhotelier and reconfigure the property, so your structure and your numbers stay accurate.

| What changed                        | What happens                                                   |
| ----------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------- |
| A new room type | We add it, agree its inventory and place it in the structure |
| A room or rate plan removed | We drop it from the model |
| A new rate plan on an existing room | We map it to its board, or leave it out of scope if you prefer |
| Rate prices changed in webhotelier | We pull the new prices in and recalculate the structures |
| Inventory changed permanently | We update the figure; future occupancy and RevPAR use it |
| A change to your competitor set | We update it — it is part of the RoomPulse connection |

{% hint style="info" %}
Thirty seconds in Settings before a yielding session — is the room there, are its boards mapped, is the inventory right, is the base still what you expect — regularly saves half an hour of "why is this rate not showing" later. Anything that looks wrong is one email away from being put right.
{% endhint %}

## Common questions

**Why can I not edit room codes or occupancy combinations?** They come from webhotelier. Rooms are never created inside revhero.

**Why is inventory not something I change myself?** Every occupancy and RevPAR figure in the product divides by it. Keeping it in one pair of hands is what keeps those percentages trustworthy, and keeps your history comparable year on year.

**A room is temporarily out of service — should inventory drop?** No. Mark it out of order in your property management system or channel manager. Occupancy adjusts on its own, and your historical comparisons stay intact. See [Room types & inventory](/revhero-docs/your-hotels-setup/settings/room-types-and-inventory.md).
