# Daily Performance

The day-by-day table that shows which stay dates drove your period result, and why.

The **Daily Performance** screen is your day-by-day control table. It shows one row per stay date for the period you have selected. A **stay date** is a night a guest stays, not the date a booking was made.

Each row puts your rates, availability, room nights, occupancy, revenue, pickup, budget, competitor rates and online demand side by side.

The [Dashboard](/revhero-docs/your-hotels-performance/dashboard.md) summarises the whole period. Daily Performance tells you *which day* drove that result. Set up a tight column layout once. Then scan the screen for 2 minutes every morning.

You can also change and send your base rates here, next to the numbers that explain them. See [Changing rates from Daily Performance](#changing-rates-from-daily-performance) below. For every room, board and occupancy, use the [Yielding Board](/revhero-docs/setting-your-rates/yielding-board.md).

*Daily Performance is a forward calendar of stay dates, with this year and last year side by side.*

## Opening the screen

Click **Daily Performance** in the sidebar. It opens on the current month, for the property selected at the top of the screen.

If you switch property, Revhero keeps your saved column layout and reloads the data.

The top of the screen also shows two things:

| What you see | What it means |
| ---------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Operational Period**, for example *All Year Round* | The dates your property trades. You can only browse stay dates inside this range. |
| **Last Upd.** | When the booking data last refreshed. |

## What is on the screen

### Calendar controls

A month picker sets the period. It also accepts shorter ranges, such as the next 7 or 14 days.

Next to it sits the **Reference Date** picker. It pins the table to how it looked on an earlier day. Set it to last Monday, and the on-the-books, pickup and variance columns show the position you held then. This is the fastest way to rebuild a sequence of events.

### Filter bar

| Filter | What it does |
| ------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Period** | Picks the month or short range in view. |
| **Reference Date** | Sets the earlier day the table is pinned to. |
| **Room Type** | Picks which room types the table includes. The number on the button shows how many are selected. |
| **Segmentation** | Picks which segments the table includes. The number shows how many are selected. Use it when you are chasing a mix problem. |
| **Cancellations** | Decides whether cancelled reservations are counted, or you see confirmed business only. |
| **Reset** | Clears your selections. |

### The table

There is one row per stay date. Columns are gathered into themed groups. You read from left to right and stop at the group that matters today.

| Group | What is in it |
| --------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **DATES** | Date and Day of week. Tick the box beside a date to select it for **Bulk Actions**. |
| **vs Median**, **LT** | vs Median: your rate against your competitors' median rate from RoomPulse, as a percentage. LT: lead time, the days left before the stay date. |
| **AVAIL** | TOT (your total rooms available to sell), ONL (rooms available for online sale) and SOLD (rooms sold: TOT minus ONL). |
| **RATES** | Send Rate, Rec Rate, Business Rule Rate, Room Type and Rate Plan. See [Changing rates from Daily Performance](#changing-rates-from-daily-performance). |
| **OCC / REV / RN / ADR / RevPAR** | Each metric carries OTB, STLY, LY, BDGT and FCST, plus the matching variance chips. |
| **PU-7** | Pickup over the last 7 days — RN, OCC, REV, ADR, RevPAR. |
| **PU-7 STLY** | The same 7-day pickup window last year, for a like-for-like reading. |
| **COMPETITOR RATE** | Median market rate from RoomPulse, your own property, and individual competitors. |
| **ONLINE DEMAND OTB** | Searches and stays for the date. These figures look forward. |
| **ONLINE DEMAND STLY** | The same demand figures for the equivalent date last year. |

**Pickup** is the number of room nights you have added for a stay date over a period of time — here, the last 7 days.

## Reading the table

### Variance chips

A **variance chip** is a small coloured box holding a percentage. It compares your on-the-books position with another series.

**VS STLY**, **VS LY** and **VS BUDGET** each show their value inside a chip. The chip is green when you are ahead of the comparison, and red when you are behind.

| Chip | What it compares you with |
| ------------- | --------------------------------------------- |
| **VS STLY** | The same point in last year's booking window. |
| **VS LY** | What the equivalent date finally closed at. |
| **VS BUDGET** | Your target for the date. |

The chips appear on OCC, REV, RN, ADR and RevPAR. A run of red down the VS STLY column is the quickest way to find the day driving the result. So is one red cell in a row that is otherwise green. Hover a chip to see the 2 figures behind it.

### Column tooltips

Every metric column carries a small **info (i)** icon. Hover it for a short note. The note states exactly what that column measures.

Revhero uses the same definition everywhere in the product. You are never left wondering, for example, whether Revenue is gross or net. The full dictionary is in [The fields](/revhero-docs/your-hotels-performance/daily-performance/fields.md).

## Your 2-minute morning scan

1. **Scan the variance columns.** VS STLY and VS BUDGET carry the headline. Stop on any red row.
2. **Check the pickup column (PU-7 RN).** Numbers ahead of the same week last year mean healthy demand. Negative numbers mean cancellations, or pace that has stopped.
3. **Read it against availability.** A weak revenue day with plenty of online availability left is usually a rate problem. Very little left on a strong day means you are close to selling out and could raise.
4. **Look closer.** Filter by Room Type or Segmentation to see whether the softness sits in one place. Then act — change the base rate here, or move to the [Yielding Board](/revhero-docs/setting-your-rates/yielding-board.md) when a single room or occupancy needs its own answer.

{% hint style="info" %}
Today's row will not show meaningful pickup. Pickup is measured against an earlier snapshot, so read it on stay dates from tomorrow onwards.
{% endhint %}

## Changing rates from Daily Performance

The **RATES** group puts your rates next to the numbers that explain them.

| Column | What it shows |
| ---------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Send Rate** | Your rate for the date. You can type a new one into the box |
| **Rec Rate** | The rate Revhero recommends for the date. See [Rate Recommendations](/revhero-docs/automation/rate-recommendations.md) |
| **Business Rule Rate** | The rate one of your [business rules](/revhero-docs/automation/availability-rules.md) has worked out for the date. With the rule's **Autopilot** off, you decide whether to send it. A dash means no rule has set one. |
| **Room Type** | The room the rates are for, which is your base room |
| **Rate Plan** | The board and rate plan the rates are for, for example *Room Only \| Flexible* |

**LT** and **SOLD** are the two figures a [business rule](/revhero-docs/automation/availability-rules.md) reads. Find a date's LT and SOLD, and you know which cell of the rule applies to it. **Business Rule Rate** shows the result.

You change rates here in **Base Yield**, which works on your base rate the same way it does on the [Yielding Board](/revhero-docs/setting-your-rates/yielding-board/table-view.md). Every other room, board and occupancy follows from your base rate through your supplement structure.

1. Type a new rate into **Send Rate** for a date. To change many dates at once, tick their boxes and use **Bulk Actions**.
2. Choose **Send**. Check the dates in **Review Rates** before you confirm. Each date shows the **Actual WH Rate** beside your new rate, so you can see exactly what changes.
3. Dates that went out successfully are marked as sent.

If you try to leave the page, or close the tab, with changes you have not sent, Revhero asks you to confirm first. Your unsent work is not lost by accident.

## Setting the screen up once

1. Open the **Columns** panel.
2. Apply [a recommended layout](/revhero-docs/your-hotels-performance/daily-performance/recommended-layout.md).
3. Pin your first 4 or 5 columns, so they stay visible as you scroll right.
4. Drag anything that is out of place.

Your layout saves for you, on that property. See [Customising your view](/revhero-docs/your-hotels-performance/daily-performance/customisation.md) for every control.

## If something looks wrong

| What you see | What to do |
| -------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Numbers look old | Check the **Last Upd.** stamp. If it is not current, email <support@revhero.com>. |
| STLY columns are blank | The property does not yet have a full year of history. Use the budget columns as your comparison for now. |
| Competitor Rate or Online Demand columns are blank | Those columns need the matching service switched on. Check [Integrations](/revhero-docs/your-hotels-setup/integrations.md). |
| Budget columns are blank | No budget has been entered for the period. See [Budget & Target](/revhero-docs/your-hotels-performance/budget-target.md). |
