The main systems are Amadeus, Sabre and Travelport. The GDS is the main route for corporate and business travel bookings. It measures profit per room rather than revenue per room. **GOPPAR = gross operating profit ÷ available room nights** RevPAR measures how well you sell. GOPPAR measures how well you earn. It covers room revenue and, depending on how you use it, revenue from food, drink, spa, parking and other services. **Gross room revenue = room rate × rooms sold** A hotel sells 100 rooms at an average rate of €150. Gross room revenue = 100 × €150 = €15,000. Gross revenue is the top line, not what you keep. Conferences, weddings, tour groups and company events are the common cases. A group fills a lot of rooms at once, but normally at a negotiated rate below your public price. It is the risk the group creates.
