# Accepting in bulk

How to apply recommendations across a whole window in one action, and when not to.

**Bulk acceptance** applies recommendations to many dates in one action, instead of one date at a time.

Use it when the suggestions across a run of dates all move in the same direction, by a similar amount.

Here are 3 good examples. A run of low-season dates with small changes. A block of dates reacting to the same announced event. A return to normal rates after a peak.

You do this on the [Yielding Board](/revhero-docs/setting-your-rates/yielding-board.md). You fill the **Send Rate** column from the recommendations, check for anything unusual, and send.

*One action fills the whole window. The two dates that move far more than the rest are un-ticked, and left exactly as they are.*

## How to do it

1. Open the [Yielding Board](/revhero-docs/setting-your-rates/yielding-board.md) for the room type, board and occupancy you want to update. If you arrive by clicking **Yield Rates** on the **Rate Recommendation** widget, Revhero sets these filters for you.
2. Turn **Enable Yielding** on.
3. Choose a date range, for example **Next 31 Days**.
4. Click **Bulk Update → Copy From → Recommended Rates**. The **Send Rate** column fills across the whole range.
5. Read through the filled range. Un-tick any date you want to handle separately.
6. Click **Send**.
7. Read the preview. It lists every cell that will go out, with its old rate and its new rate.
8. Click **Confirm**.

A window of 90 days takes a few minutes this way.

## Taking the direction but not the exact number

You may agree with the direction of the rates, but want your own rounding.

1. Fill the **Send Rate** column from the recommendations.
2. Apply batch rounding across the selection, to the nearest 5 or 10.
3. Then preview and send.

## When to review date by date instead

| Situation | Why |
| -------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| The rates move in both directions across the range | A range where some dates rise and others fall is not 1 decision. Split it. Handle each part on its own |
| 1 date moves much more than the others | Most dates move by a few per cent and 1 date moves by 20 per cent. Look at that date |
| Dates you know something about | Group blocks, closures, maintenance, or a conference that is not in the data. Exclude these dates and price them yourself |
| A property that has just been connected | Review a sample of dates in detail first. Check that the range of rates looks right before you fill the rest |

Un-tick a row to leave that date exactly as it is. The other dates still go out. You can un-tick a row before you send, or in the preview.

## The safeguards

Bulk acceptance passes through the same checks as a single-cell send.

* Every rate must sit between your minimum and your maximum. Revhero refuses a rate outside the range. It shows an error message next to the rate, and it does not send it.
* The preview lists every cell that will change, before anything leaves Revhero.
* The [Event Log](/revhero-docs/automation/event-log/investigating-a-rate-send.md) records each change. You can read a previous set of rates there and send them again.

{% hint style="info" %}
You cannot undo a send. The preview is your only chance to correct it. Read the preview properly, especially the first few times.
{% endhint %}

## The controls

| Control | What it does |
| ----------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Enable Yielding** | Turns the Yielding Board on for your selection, so you can edit and send rates |
| Date range, for example **Next 31 Days** | Sets the window that the fill and the send apply to |
| **Bulk Update → Copy From → Recommended Rates** | Fills **Send Rate** with the current recommendation for every date in the range |
| Batch rounding | Rounds all the filled rates the same way, to the nearest 5 or 10 |
| Row tick box | Includes or excludes a single date |
| **Send** | Opens the preview, which lists every cell that will change |
| **Confirm** | Sends the rates in the preview |
